Meet the team - Introducing Pam
Meet Pam!
Working at the Hundertwasser Art Centre with Wairau Māori Art Gallery is a “dream come true” for HAC Ambassador Pam Tothill. Pam developed a lifelong passion for Hundertwasser’s art, architecture and ecological activities after meeting the artist as a young teacher in 1976 at Russell.
Many years later, working with an inspirational group of volunteers raising the money to realise the dream of the Hundertwasser Art Centre in Whangārei, Pam feels that she has come full circle. Pam became the official Ambassador prior to opening this February.
"My role here is varied and interesting and ranges from taking our visitors on a journey of exploration with a guided tour, training our wonderful staff on everything about Hundertwasser, and representing the Hundertwasser Non Profit Foundation in Vienna to honour the legacy and authenticity of Hundertwasser.
Coming to work everyday in this iconic building which is an artwork in itself, is my happy place and makes my heart sing!”
The most rewarding part of the job for Pam is sharing this gift from Hundertwasser.
“Welcoming our visitors who LOVE their experience at the Hundertwasser Art Centre with Wairau Māori Art Gallery and working with a dedicated team who do a wonderful job ensuring our visitors have a magical journey of exploration into Hundertwasser's world is so fulfilling.”
