The Hundertwasser Art Centre with Wairau Māori Art Gallery is committed to being a welcoming and inclusive space for everyone, including those with neurodiversity, disabilities and access needs. Our friendly and compassionate team is here to support you—please let us know how we can assist and we will do our best to meet your needs.
We proudly offer the following services and amenities to enhance your visit:
Elevator Access: A lift is available to move between floors.
Undulating Floors: The Centre features floors that mimic natural terrain, with wheelchair-accessible pathways throughout the building.
Wheelchair-Accessible Toilets: Located on both the ground floor and first floor.
Wheelchair Availability: Two wheelchairs can be reserved in advance by contacting our front desk.
Walking Sticks: Available for use during your visit.
Audio Guides: Visitors with significant visual impairments are eligible for a free audio guide.
Restaurant Access: A ramp on the Marina side of the Town Basin provides easy access.
Assistance Animals: Guide dogs and assistance dogs are welcome.
Mobility Parking: Spaces are available in nearby public car parks and in the parking area opposite Pak’nSave on Dent Street.
Family-Friendly Facilities: We are a breastfeeding-friendly venue with baby changing stations located on the ground floor and in the restaurant toilets.
Roof Access: Available to ticket holders via the stairwell or lift.
Guided Tours: Offered Thursday to Sunday. Please inform us in advance if you have specific needs that may affect your tour experience.
